Doc's Top 5 Each Way Bets

Francesco Molinari 16/1

Hasn't been the season Francesco hoped for after 2018, but there have still been some super moments like winning the Arnie, a T5 at The Masters and shooting 66 on Sunday in Portrush to climb to T11. His T14 last time out at Wentworth was as always a driving masterclass but he struggled a little with his approach play.  This will be Fran's 19th Italian Open; he hasn't been outside the top-20 since 2013, won it in 2016 and was solo second to Thorbjorn Olesen in GardaGolf last year. 16/1 with a handful of bookies.

Danny Willett 25/1

Loves an Italian job.  Top-10's from three of four late season trips to Italy including a solo second to Francesco Molinari in Milan in 2016. T26 last time out at the Dunhill Links following his win at the BMW PGA Championship.  Confidence is flowing and Danny is in bonus territory.

Matt Wallace 28/1

Third appearance in Italy for Matt and he has a best of solo 4th in Milan in 2017 when Tyrrell Hatton won.  Hasn't hit the heights this season (and I'm convinced he just plays too many events) but showed positive signs with a T3 in Holland last month and enjoyed a leisurely trip around the links in Scotland last time out where he only took three bogeys all week en-route to a T15 finish.  This course is made for Wallace.

Joakim Lagergren 66/1

Lager. Close enough

Form dog at the moment.  Ever since a T10 at his Scandinavian Open turned around what was a pretty awful season Joakim Lagergren has kicked on with a T7 in Holland and a T3 last time out in Scotland saw him pocket over a quarter of a million euro.

Adri Arnaus 50/1

The latest wonderkid in Spanish golf, after winning the 2018 Challenge Tour Grand Final Adri Arnaus has had some super finishes in his debut season.  Second's in Kenya, Andalucia and the Czech Republic, a T6 in Switzerland last month and T4 last week again in Spain and Olgiata Golf should play to his greens in regulation strengths.
