Very interesting listening to Sergio Garcia talk to Tim Barter after his first round at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship.

Tim asked Sergio why he has split from Callaway and Sergio replied that in contract negotiations Callaway were insistent that the Spaniard played the Chrome Soft ball.  It became a deal breaker.

The Chrome Soft ball came in for serious criticism last year after MyGolfSpy found serious flaws in testing the ball. "We began finding visibly off-center cores, inconsistent mixing, and uneven layering. It’s the kind of thing that leads to inconsistent and sometimes unpredictable performance on the golf course."

Sergio used the Titleist Pro V1 in 2019 and was formerly a TaylorMade TP5 ball user towards the end of his 15 stint

Callaway say if the Sergio split "We parted on great terms and the option for Sergio to carry Callaway equipment in the future remains."

This week Sergio has in his bag
