Rory McIlroy starts as the favourite at 11/2 to win the 2015 US Open but can he deliver a fifth Major?  Here's five reasons that say he cant.

1. Missed Cuts

McIlroy has missed the cut in last two starts at the BMW PGA Championship and Irish Open.  He has clocked up 18 bogeys and two doubles or worse in his past four rounds.

2. Recent US Open Record

Since winning the at Congressional in 2011 McIlroy hasn't finished in the top 20  in three US Opens since at Olympic Club, Merion and Pinehurst.

3. Hard Pan And Windy Conditions

Rory struggled in the wind at the Irish Open and even tried to adapt his swing to hold off shots.  He traditionally plays better on softer conditions and with Chambers Bay set up rock hard and bouncy it doesn't set up well for him, It could negate his strengths.

4. Putting Woes

To win McIlroy needs to be assured with the putter, a club that has not been performing of late.  In 10 starts this season he has never finished in the top-10 in the putting stats, Even in winning in Quail Hollow he finished T13 in putting.

5. Pressure and Media Spotlight

If there was one thing that stood out from McIlroy's missed cuts at Wentworth and Royal County Down it was the extremely pressurized scheduling and corporate obligations on him off the course.  His days from winning in Charlotte to playing in Wentworth were lived 24/7 on social media and he was equally pulled from pillar to post at the Irish Open.  If McIlroy is to win the US Open his management need ensure he is free to concentrate on his golf.
