Fresh from his fine Wentworth performance Shane Lowry has qualified to play in the US Open.

Englishman Simon Griffiths set the benchmark in the US Open qualifier at Walton Heath, posting a seven under par total after rounds of 67 and 70.
Welshman Stuart Manley had the best of the morning scores, a six under par 66 on the New Course, but followed it up with a 75 on the Old Course for a three under par total.
Shane Lowry, who yesterday finished runner-up in the BMW PGA Championship, made a promising start with a three under par 69 on the New Course, but his fellow Irishman Padraig Harrington, a three-time Major Champion, struggled to a 75 and had it all to do in the afternoon.
Fourteen spots are up for grabs for the year's second Major, plus two alternates.

Meanwhile in Asian qualy Wen-Chong Liang, won today's U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier at the par-71 Nara International Golf Club in Japan.
It'll be Liang's first appearance in the U.S. Open. He owns one European Tour victory, 19 professional victories, while also winning the China Amateur three consecutive years between 1996-1998. He has U.S. major experience, finishing T-8 at the 2008 PGA Championship, including a course-record 64 in the third round.
Liang will be only the second Chinese golfer ever to play in the U.S. Open after 14-year-old Andy Zhang played in 2012. Kiyoshi Miyazato, Kyoung-Hoon Lee, Toru Taniguchi, Azuma Yano and David Oh also qualified.
