After watching his progression this year, there's no doubt about in my mind that Jordan Spieth is highly intelligent in a golfing sense.  He plays to his strengths and manages courses better than most.  Nick Faldo might have said it best yesterday when he said Spieth has the highest 'Golfing I.Q' in the field.

For the first two rounds at The Open Spieth is paired with Dustin Johnson, who by his own admission hasn't played the Majors as good as he could have and employed more savagery than strategy when it mattered most.

I believe this a fantastic pairing for Johnson who will benefit from watching a thinker operate at close quarters.  Hopefully by some sort of osmosis DJ will find from Spieth what is needed to finally finish the job.

Add in Hideki Matsuyama and I think all three could be high on the leaderboard Friday night.
