A lowly Irish golf blogger woke up this morning to the news that Justin Rose had "liked" one of his tweets.

The 41 year old blogger, who uses the Twitter moniker @golfcentraldoc, dragged his family from their beds and assembled them around the kitchen table at 6.30am to tell them his BIG news.

Rose chose to use the new heart shaped icon on Twitter to indicate his satisfaction with the blogger's semi prophetic tweet about yesterday's Tottenham vs Arsenal Premiership game.  The blogger, himself a Spurs fan, had tagged Rose and his caddie Mark @dickfulcherslad in the tweet because he had noticed the pair had themselves tweeted about boarding a flight to Asia just as the match was about to kick off.

Rose joins golf industry stars like Tony Johnstone, Ewan Murray and Tweeter Alliss who have all previously liked the bloggers tweets.

"It's just unreal to think Justin Rose actually read my tweet with his actual own eyes and then made the conscious decision to press the like button and throw an old dog like me a bone," the Father of four said.  "It's the culmination of seven years hard work.  I'd message Justin to say thanks but he doesn't follow me. Still though it's like the John Lewis Christmas ad that he noticed me. I'm over the moon."

More as it emerges.
