The 2018 Open Championship has been one for the ages and with Tiger Spieth and Rory all in the shake up with one round to go it couldn't get better. Or could it?

Mother Nature is finally set to have her say today with strong and gusting winds forecast up to 25 mph throughout making the test tough.

Having had a look at the odds heading into the final round here are my observations.

Jordan Spieth is 2/1 with the bookies running scared. He's enjoying being able to putt again on the slower greens. But 2/1 in this wind? Those odds are ridiculous.

Best of my original tips is Alex Noren at 22/1. Still a good each way bet with a chance to post a score. Plays with Webb Simpson.

If you haven't had a flutter yet the best each way bet has to be Justin Rose at 33/1. He starts five shots back but having sunk a putt for birdie on the last to make the cut on Friday and then shooting 64 on moving day he's playing with nothing to lose.

Zach Johnson was one of my long odds picks at 100/1.  He's now 33/1 and plays alongside Tommy Fleetwood today. Fleetwood himself is 20/1, has shot 63 at Carnoustie in the Dunhill Links and that should be a hot group.

My other long odds shot Xander Schauffele at 100/1 is now 5/1 but he's now in that final group with test.  It's too late to back Xander now but win lose or draw he's had a great Championship.

And what about Tiger Woods at -5 at 18/1 with the bookies? Very generous each way.  If Woods is to win again he may not get a better chance with wind, slow greens and the dream pairing alongside Francesco Molinari, himself coming off a W, T2, T25, W, T2 at 12/1.  In a game of ego's where pairings can sometimes affect performance, being alongside the mild mannered Italian is the best possible scenario for Woods. But mental frailty is still a worry.
