Steve Stricker 16/1

Last week was Stricker’s first tournament to finish outside the top 20 in 12 but does it count given that it was only three rounds? Stricker’s record at TPC Boston makes very impressive reading. Winner in 2009 and top 10’s last year, in 2007 and 2006. In all eight of his wins since 2003 the winning score posted was 16 under or better. The winning score on this, one of the easiest layout on the Tour, has been 16 under or better for the last five years. This should play into Stricker’s hands.bet now

Vijay Singh 30/1

In every interview Vijay gives at the moment he refers to his being free of back pain for the first time in ages. How long can it last? Fourth at the Wyndham and tied third last week at The Barclays, the Fijian comes here as the undisputed Barclays course champion. His last win on Tour came here in 2008, he was second in 2006 and won in 2004. If you think Singh’s back can withstand another tournament, plus all the practice this guy does, then he is your man this week.bet now

Camilo Villegas 50/1

Something seems to have clicked over the last couple of weeks for El Hombre dAranja, or the Spiderman. We know Camilo is a September man after he bagged the BMW and Tour Championship back in 2008, but rather disappointingly considering his undoubted talent, he has only won once since last year at the Honda. He hadn’t finished under par in any event since coming third at the Fedex St Jude in June but after a Top 10 at the Wyndham and tied sixth last week at The Barclays, Villegas is once again a force to be reckoned with.bet now

Brandt Snedeker 35/1

Fired a sensational 61 in the final (third) round of the Barclays last week to climb into a tie for third but I know more than most that tipping Sned to have two good weeks in a row is like giving an alcoholic a crate of whiskey and tipping him to do to the same. Tied fifth last year but could have been so much better. Of the top 10 finishers only he and Jason Day failed to break par.bet now

Jason Day 20/1

And so we come again to Jason Day. The bookies may have taken our fiver each way on Day last week, but it was a shortened event and Day did post a third round 66 to lie just outside the top 10. Six top tens so far this year including being runner up at both the Masters and the US Open. Before the aforementioned level par final round here last year Day shared or lead on his own after rounds one, two and three. If he was in the same position this time around, my guess is this seasons experiences would carry him over the line. Each way possibilities.bet now

Best Of The Rest

The big money is being lumped on Luke Donald (12/1) who tied second here last year and shot two nice 66’s last week to ease himself back into the fray after top 10’s at the PGA and WGC. A long odds shout may be Jason Dufner (80/1), the unlucky one at the PGA. He’s had five top 10’s this season and loves this Boston track. He tied second in 2009. After some swing changes Geoff Ogilvy (60/1) is always good for a showing at The Deutsche Bank . He has three top 10’s in his last four visits here including tying second behind Charley Hoffman last year.bet now
